Role Details

Our accounting practice offers services for business and personal tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll. We also assist in tax resolution matters. The role will overlap with tax planning and is a key pillar of the broader financial planner ecosystem. The Tax Associate would have strengths in some of these areas, and a willingness to develop and learn in others.

This is a somewhat junior position, ideal for someone with 1-3 year experience.  Tax preparation and resolution would be supervised.

Outside of tax season, annual work would include:

• Bookkeeping (Quickbooks Online) including monthly reconciliation.
• Supporting payroll, including retirement account transactions.
• Review of tax returns for new clients to help identify problems and highlight planning topics.
• Supporting tax planning processes, such as periodic review of paystubs to help ensure clients are withholding the appropriate amount of tax and have enrolled in the correct payroll deferral elections.
• Training and development within the core competences of accounting and into the broader planning roles.
• Keeping client data updated and secure via our software systems.

Skill Details

We are looking for excellence in one or more of the following:

• Bookkeeping
• Payroll
• Tax Preparation (Ideally including business taxes)
• Tax Planning

The right candidate would have a foundation of knowledge within these areas, and willing and able to learn new skills both within them, and in areas that they are less familiar with.

Tax Preparers should have at least an Enrolled Agent designation, and ideally will have a CPA license.
